Mayhem in May!

What. A. Month. May has been an absolute whirlwind of markets, soaps, and sunshine! With my official leap into full-time soap slinging (yes, dreams do come true), we packed our calendar with fabulous festivals—hello Hamble Festival and Alresford Watercress Festival!

The sun shone, the vibes were glorious, and you lovely lot showed up in full force. Whether you stopped to sniff soaps, have a natter, or support us online, thank you. From the bottom of my lavender-scented heart—you are all soap-erstars. 💫

 Soap Drama Alert: Easy Does It on Pause

Well, here’s a plot twist I didn’t see coming...

Our beloved Easy Does It soap has been temporarily removed from our website thanks to a baffling decision by Shopify. The culprit? CBD hemp tea bags. Yep. That’s it. Apparently, “tea” is now suspect.

I’ve tried explaining that this isn’t cannabis, it won’t send anyone to the moon, and it’s completely safe—but until their “investigation” is over (cue eye roll), it’s been banished from the shop.

👻 Website Wobbles: The Curse of the Cache

Some of you have had issues completing orders online—especially with UK delivery showing as “unavailable.” We’ve tracked it down to a lingering glitch from our old website. Basically, if you’ve ordered from the old site and are now using the new one, your browser might be confused.

Quick Fix:

🧽 Clear your browser history and cache. That usually clears the cobwebs.

🎓 Course Update: Brain Cells Engaged!

In between markets and soap mixing, I’ve been hitting the books—and I’m chuffed to say I passed Module 1 of my course with a distinction and a juicy 89%! 🎉

I may have slightly overachieved on one question (who knew picking four answers instead of three was a crime?), but hey—I like to be thorough. 😉

🛒 Market Madness: The Chichester Trolley Saga

Ah, Chichester Farmers Market—what a debut. Lovely crowd, great energy... and a trolley disaster for the history books.

Picture this: a scorching hot day, me dragging half the shop across town in a glorified shopping basket. Several sweaty trips later, the amazing Frances (market manager and angel) offered to help. All I had to do was find the closer car park she was in. Easy, right?

Wrong.

Cue me getting lost in a maze of one-way streets, asking strangers for directions, and accidentally scaring a man by asking if he’d hop in my car and help guide me. (Note to self: don’t do that again.)

Eventually, I reunited with Frances, loaded up, and vowed never to repeat that trolley trauma.

🚀 The Trolley Has Landed!

Good news: I invested in a new trolley. A proper one. Debuted it at Chichester on May 16th and wow—one glorious, envy-inducing trip from stall to car. Bonus: my amazing husband John made me custom display racks. Less faff, more fab.

🌍 Soap Fact of the Month: The Wild World of Ackee

Did you know Jamaica’s national fruit—Ackee—was once used to make soap? Sounds cool, right? Well, not if it’s unripe. In its unripe state, ackee is highly toxic and was even banned in the US until the year 2000.

Let’s just say... we’ll stick to lavender.
